• Kafenion - this place has a proper authentic Cretan menu of homemade recipes, tasty treats and refreshing drinks, served on a terrace that looks just like a little Greek village square! Open from 12:00 until late

• Argonaut - open for lunch and dinner, this waterfront restaurant has a Mediterranean snack menu in the afternoon and, at dinner, excellent Italian specialities that'll get your taste buds tingling

• Dionysos - get your glad rags on to visit the God of Wine (Dionysos, if you didn't know), 'cause this place is perfect for a romantic dinner. Modern Mediterranean gastronomy? Sounds delish to us

• Blue Lagoon - another seafront venue, this time with a Japanese-Peruvian menu

• In-room dining - because sometimes you just need to call room service and eat your brekky in a cosy hotel dressing gown

• Wine Cellar - where they keep the 1,100 labels that are on the wine menu

• Four bars - spend mornings getting sandy toes at the Beach Bar, afternoons drinking tropical drinks at the Pool Bar, evenings on the terrace of the Lobby Bar and nights watching the stars by the sea at the Verghera Jetty Bar
