Holidays from Cork Airport

Holidays from Cork Airport
Ireland's second busiest airport, eight airlines and 47 destinations on the board. Your next holiday starts right here in Munster.
The south of Ireland is a magical place, full of dramatic scenery, rich musical traditions, and American tourists. Tourists flock here for many reasons but, if we’re honest, rarely in search of sunshine. All the more reason, then, to plan a summer jolly from Cork to somewhere hotter. Whether you want to evade the tourists back home, top up your tan on the beach, or dance the night away with your feet on the sand, we’ve got the glass slipper for your sandy toes.
Why choose Cork Airport?
Cork is the second most popular airport in Ireland, serving millions of passengers a year. It’s only got one terminal, and one runway, which means it’s a bit more relaxed than Dublin, and passengers are usually able to make their way around it more quickly. But please don’t get carried away and end up having to dash through the airport at the last minute like Luke from our content team - a more experienced airport sprinter than we’d like him to be.

Cork Airport Information
Cork Airport (ORK) sits about 8 kilometres south of Cork city centre, just off the N27. Getting there is straightforward: Bus Eireann route 226A runs between the airport and the city centre, and there are regular services from other towns across Munster. By car, the airport is well signposted from the N25, N27 and the South Link Road, with short-term and long-term parking on site.
Also, look out for the (relative) cheer and charm of the staff. We’re not sure whether it’s the high stakes of looking out for illicit cargo, getting bored of telling people to put their liquids in their carry-on, or just the jealousy of seeing so many other people go on their holibobs every day, but Airport staff are not, in general, known for their generous hospitality and good cheer. That said, the staff at Cork Airport are some of the friendliest we’ve ever met, and we’ve seen more than our fair share of airports.
