What are the best beaches in Mykonos?
They might have the nightlife scene down, but Mykonos holidays know exactly how to deliver the chilled vibes too. Dreamy beaches are like a love language here, whether you're looking for somewhere to dance and slurp cocktails, or somewhere to plonk down a towel and dive into your beach read. Whatever you fancy, give these Greek spots a whirl:
Paradise Beach - just like the name suggests, this flat, sandy beach is a real hotspot, popping off with watersports, beach bars for your midday spritz, and even handy facilities like changing rooms and Wi-Fi
Psarou Beach - celeb-spotters, this is your spot. This luxey beach has gorgeous waters for dipping into, a whole menu of watersports to try your hand at, a bunch of seaside restaurants and sun lounger rental that's a bit on the spenny side, but totally worth it
Elia Beach - this one's a biggie (the biggest on the island), and it doesn't scrimp on the goods, with soft sands, clear waters and plenty of space to flop down a towel
Super Paradise Beach - here just to one-up the OG Paradise Beach, this place brings the inclusive vibes (it's a firm fave among the LGBTQ+ crew), gorg views and epic parties once the DJs hit the decks
Ornos Beach - snug, scenic and stacked with all the essentials - this family-friendly cove is sheltered enough for a quiet swim, but still within easy reach of nearby seafood tavernas
Paraga Beach - a 2-in-1 kinda beach, with two sandy stretches divided by a rocky headland. Its curved shape shelters it from the blustery winds, making it a top pick for quiet swims, and less so for wind sports

With views so delish they could be on a postcard, it'd be rude not to explore them properly. If you think sitting still is for suckers, pull on your comfiest trainers and hit up the old donkey paths in the countryside for a literal walk through history. Oh, and make sure to pack some swimwear while you're at it, because there'll be a couple of beaches along the way, and trust us - once you catch a glimpse of those waters, you'll be begging for a dip.
Catch a movie under the stars
Calling all the film buffs - you can take your stuffy, indoor cinemas and stick 'em where the sun don't shine (literally). Mykonos does things a bit differently. Cine Manto is an open-air cinema turned restaurant (serving food from 10AM 'til 1AM) - perfect for loading up on snacks while you catch a late-night flick under the stars. Date night just got a major upgrade.
Pretend you know about wine
Wine-tasting in Mykonos is kind of a must. Those local farms and vineyards aren't there for nothing, you know! There are loads of places to get your local vino fix, but Mykonian Land is one of the most popular spots, offering bespoke tours of the winery and olive groves, a walkthrough of the whole process from start to end, and - of course - some time for tasting, with a side of salty appetisers and traditional Greek music.
Scuba dive right in
Beaches are the star of the show around these parts, but the sea in particular might take the cake. It's glassy-clear, which makes it perfect for spotting marine life and taking your snorkel or scuba gear for a spin. Mykonos Diving Centre is the most popular place to get stuck in, and it's got qualified instructors to guide you every step of the way, so even if you're a total newbie, you don't have to get your flippers in a twist.
Check out the Armenistis Lighthouse
It might've been built way back in the day, but this legendary structure is still standing and functioning today! It serves as a nod to Greek maritime legends of the past, and whether you admire it from afar or get up close and personal with a tour, it's definitely one to tick off your Mykonos list.
Get your history hit at one of the museums
History nerds and people who just want some Greek knowledge to impress their friends and fam with, the museums in Mykonos won't disappoint. There are a few to pick from, but the Archaeological Museum of Mykonos is a good place to start. Places to visit
Windmills of Mykonos
We hear you - windmills don't exactly scream 'fun', but these beauts are way up there in terms of Mykonos must-sees. You can catch a glimpse from different spots along the coast, but if you head to Kato Mili then you'll see them up close in all their glory, perched high up like they own the place (which, honestly, they kind of do). Back in the day these bad boys were churning out grain for the locals, while now they're all about the snazzy architecture and sunset views. Whether you're here for the history or just a new Insta pic, these windmills are are the real deal.
Little Venice
Little Venice is the absolute heartthrob of Mykonos, tucked right along the water's edge with quaint, colourful houses straight from a Pinterest pic. It's all charm, all day - full of little shops, bars and restaurants for all your souvenir, vino and seafood needs, and the charming, winding streets are the kind you wouldn't actually mind getting lost down. If you want our advice, get here for sunset and hit up one of the rooftop terraces for cocktails with a view. It's a total vibe.
Agios Panteleimonas Monastery
For a cheeky sprinkle of laidback history, hit up Agios Panteleimonas Monastery, about 3km northeast of Mykonos Town. There are plenty of churches and monasteries that you can find more local to Mykonos, but this one's a real show-stopper. Apart from being an absolute beaut of a building in a more hidden part of the island, it's a real soul-soother too. Outside it's all vibrant colours and castle-like details, while inside it's got a super chilled vibe with wooden carvings and killer views. If you're looking for a good time to visit, the 27th July is when the monastery celebrates the saint with a festival of singing, dancing and local food and drink. Can we come too..?
