Tourist Tax
In some destinations, local authorities charge a tourist tax.
This is a local charge that helps support tourism services like infrastructure and sustainability initiatives, and helps manage the impact that tourism can have on local communities.
Tourist tax is paid locally, in local currency, usually directly to the hotel when you check in. The amount varies by country, and also by city or region within a country, and can depend on things like the type of accommodation, the length of your stay and how many people are travelling. Your hotel may also charge a resort fee which is payable directly to the hotel.
We’ve added below a handy list of the different tourist taxes that are payable locally at the hotel on arrival. The amounts set out below are correct as at 12/03/2025 and are estimated based on information available to us at the time of publication. The amounts are subject to change without notice.
As shown below, taxes are usually paid in local currency. Where applicable, you may want to use a currency converter to see the total cost in EUR.
