Overview

This beachside resort has really ticked all the boxes on what makes a 10/10 holiday. First of all, it's right on the beach, a private beach too, so you've got plenty of room to snooze on a sunbed or whizz around on a banana boat. Then there are the eight restaurants that you'll have to choose from each day, and they don't make it easy, from Italian to Indian/Thai fusion there's plenty to make them tastebuds tingle, Gonu Bar and Grill is the place to go for unmatched sunsets, and a great Instagram pic. We'll probably mention this more than once but this resort is home to one of the largest swimming pools in the UAE, if this doesn't give them ultimate bragging rights, we don't know what does!

Location

  • Sat on our favourite place - on the beach!

  • You'll be landing into Dubai International Airport which is a 1-hour 36-minute journey

Rooms

  • These Deluxe Rooms and Executive Suites are recently renovated, so you've got brand-spanking new furniture, decor and the floor-to-ceiling windows give you top-tier views of the gardens, pool and sea (yep, all three will be in view). And, most importantly, great selfie lighting!

  • Some Deluxe Rooms have a balcony - if you fancy that sea breeze and a bit of sunbathing, it's worth it!

  • Each room/suite has...

    • Seating area

    • Satellite TV

    • USB ports

    • Safe

    • Minibar

    • Walk-in wardrobe

    • Desk area

    • 24-hour room service

  • Executive Suites offer:

    • All of the above

    • Private terrace

    • Use of Royal Club facilities

    • Living area

    • Dining area with a fully-equipped kitchenette

Food & Drink

  • Tea and Dates - this place is the perfect pit-stop for a sweet treat and a caffeine fix, they even have a good old brew, probably not Yorkshire Tea, but we can dream

  • Taste Restaurant - get a taste of this! Indian and Thai fusion with wooden dragons as decoration. Yep, wooden dragons. Just (spring) roll with it...

  • Sapore Restaurant - this chic Italian restaurant serves all the pizza and pasta, which one is it then? We'd order both, why not. As the Italians would say, delizioso!

  • Views Restaurant - this is where you can dine for breakfast, lunch and dinner, you've got loads of international dishes to load up your plates with. And, as the name states, lots of great views

  • Gonu Bar and Grill - this bar and grill is sat right on the beach serving snacks, drinks and light meals, take a seat on the plush chairs, or on the swings (maybe not after a few cocktails)

  • Beach and Pool Bar - enjoy your favourite drink and much on some snacks, shisha pipes are also available if that's your thing

  • Astro's Bar - the rooftop bar is the place to be for cracking views, cocktails and ice-cold beers. Great location for an Instagram post

  • Layali by Swaad - traditional Levant cuisine which is a must-try if you love Falafel, Shawarma, and Tabbouleh

Sports & Entertainment

  • Outdoor Swimming Pool - this place is so extra, it has the biggest swimming pool on the east coast. Plenty of room for active swimmers, diving fanatics, or the toe-dunkers

  • Children's Pool - a bit smaller than the main swimming pool, but still lots of room for the little guests to splash about

  • Le Meridien Family Club - the kids are spoilt here, getting their own clubhouse that's packed with fun activities. We're talking mini gold, face-painting, discos and pirates day, for the teens there's a WII controller, video games and a cinema

  • Health Club - for the active guests there's a fully-equipped gym, tennis courts, squash courts, and a sauna, jacuzzi and steam room to relax in after your workout

  • Spa Al Aqah - experience one of the exclusive treatments, or bring the spa to your room with the Al Aquah Spa Bath menu, the team can transform your bathroom into a spa

  • Watersports - with a beach so nice, you have to take advantage of the watersports, there are banana boat rides, donut rides, water skiing, snorkelling tours and boat trips

Just a heads up that until the 1st of June 2025, the hotel will be undergoing room improvements. Work will take place between 10:00 - 17:00 daily, there will be some noise disturbance.

Also, the Family Club Kids Pool at Le Méridien Al Aqah Beach Resort will undergo refurbishment from 23rd September to 24th November 2024. During this period, the main hotel pool and private beach will remain fully operational.
