Overview

Is it a hotel? Is it a silk mill? Who knows, honestly, when you first step foot into the lobby at this place. That's kind of the point, though. It's got silk-clad walls and a ceiling covered in colourful threads to replicate a weaver's loom, in celebration of Thailand's silk-weaving heritage. And if you don't really care about all that, then at least it makes for a pretty cool Insta shot. Same can be said for the rooftop pool, which - when it comes to soaking up that tropical climate - where could be better? There's even a poolside bar for crispy spring rolls and cocktails. Let's just say, we can see the future, and it looks a little bit like you, on a sun lounger, sipping a watermelon margarita.

Location

  • The Grand Palace - a 20-minute taxi-ride away. The famous Reclining Buddha is right next door, too!

  • Khaosan Road - around 20 minutes away by taxi - go for the souvenirs, stay for the beers

  • Lumphini Park - a 10-minute drive away, or a 30-minute walk, if you'd rather travel on foot

  • Bangkok Airport - around 25 minutes away, by car

Rooms

  • Deluxe Rooms, Family Rooms, Privilege Rooms (with exclusive benefits) and Suites are available at the hotel - each decked out with a modern design all the essential comforts

  • All room types come with...

    • FREE Wi-Fi

    • LCD TV

    • Electronic safe

    • Tea and coffee facilities

  • Privilege Club guests have access to a private lounge on the 16th floor, with complimentary drinks and snacks served on the daily. Talk about VIP.

Food & Drink

  • Lily Fu's - a vibrant restaurant next to the lobby, serving tasty Asian street food that you won't want to miss. Especially the Vietnamese-style meatball bao buns. 'Nough said.

  • El Gaucho - the best steakhouse in Bangkok, some say. And even those that don't say it's pretty good. If steak's not your thing, they also serve pasta, cheese platters and fish - and it's worth a visit for the wine list alone!

  • Pool bar - relax by the pool and enjoy a drink or snack straight from your sun lounger - from Western faves like chips and nuggs, to proper spring rolls, Pad Thai and a cocktail menu that you'll probably want to work your way through

Sports & Entertainment

  • Rooftop pool - city break or not, everyone needs a pool day, and this rooftop one is the perfect place to dunk, dive and sunbathe with a cocktail in hand

  • State-of-the-art gym - cardio, but make it fun. Or at least with a decent view. The treadmills in this place overlook the pool, and you'll also find free weights, stationary bikes and elliptical machines if that's more you bag

  • L’Occitane spa (at the sister hotel) - there are spas, and there are award-winning spas. This place is one of those, with treatment rooms, a Jacuzzi and a whole menu of massages for that classic Thai experience - and all you have to do is hop on over to the sister hotel, Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit, to find it!

Facilities

  • A la Carte Restaurant
  • Gym
