Second time staying at Silema Marina Hotel. Wonderful hotel. Hotel has everything, room was warm, clean and comfortable. Can't fault anything, staff were so friendly and went out of their way to help when our airport pickup didnt show up. The cleaners were better than at some 5 star hotels. We had a balcony suite, it was wonderful. Bed was comfortable, tea and coffee in your room, small fridge for water etc. Bathroom was small but clean and shower had good pressure. You may hear some street noise if you have a room facing the marina but that's to be expected. Malta traffic never stops. Location of this hotel is terrific. Opa restaurant is directly outside the hotel entrance, and either side of the hotel are a range of wonderful cafes and restaurants. 2 shoping centres are also within walking distance. Its directly across from nearly every ferry/excursion cruise and lots of the tour buses stop across the road so if you want to explore Malta without renting a car, this is the hotel for you.

Lovely hotel, great location

This is not a three-star hotel. The photographs do not reflect the majority of the rooms. The Wi-Fi is weak - reported it three times, but nothing was done. Cracked tiles in the bathroom, and very tired towels. One night the door handle came off in my hand!

i have just had a lovely stay at this little gem of a hotel i stayed there 30 years ago ,i go to Malta a lot and yes its a budget hotel Clean nice room such lovely staff who are a credit to the hotel very helpful indeed and always a smile ...just remember its not the Hilton or the Savoy but a good priced hotel in a nice part on sliema close to bus stops and ferries and the lifts are perfect i will stay again next year .. thanks Michael bonfield room 609

little gem of a hotel

Stayed in the Economy small room. Bad choice! It was the smallest, darkest, hottest hotel room I have ever stayed. No wardrobe to store clothes, just a couple of shelves and hangers. No windows. You could not tell whether it was day or night! The room was in a bad condition with chipped floor, marks all over the walls, scuffs just about everywhere and not enough sockets. Had to have the A/C on most of the time as the room seemed to retain heat. The only reason for two stars is that the A/C worked, it had a kettle, the bathroom/shower was ok, and housekeeping changed bed linen and towels everyday. The hotel was in a good location for getting local buses and water taxis.
