It's a cultural thing. Our 1st visit to Sardinia. We assumed the country would be peopled by off shore Italians. Wrong. The Sardinians are abrupt to the point of rudeness and manage to make an argument out of thin air!

Cons first. Many hotels use them, but we HATE memory foam mattresses. Too hard and my wife always wakes with every single bone in her body aching.

We had a Room Safe, but the screws were there, loose, to affix it to the wall!

Who placed the Shelf in the Washrooms just 5 cms above the Tap!

Breakfast Buffet could have benefited from wider selection of Fruit.

Oh and the Garden is situated such that it rarely gets, any sunshine.

But the Sky Bar is lovely. Great views and they make a mean Espresso Macciato.

Hotel very quiet and so central to the Town of Aleghero - which is a delight.

The best point about this hotel is it's central location with views over the  harbour and old town.  Also next to the park and so close to the bus terminal.

The bedroom was modern and comfortable.   The breakfast was in a lovely, airy dining room.  There was a limited choice for breakfast with no restaurant for evening dinner.  This was a good opportunity to try different restaurants which were within easy walking distance.  

The bar on the 9th floor had fabulous views, however, you had to book a one hour slot in advance!  The slots were hard to come by my recommendation is to contact the hotel and book slots for your stay in advance.

Decent hotel but limited facilities. Sky bar was only available through a booking process and timed for one hour. No pool and outside terrace mainly shaded. Good access to local restaurants and harbour but generally feel hotel best suited for business rather than tourist use.

Short stay at Catalunya hotel in Alghero Sardinia

My wife and I loved this hotel. It’s on the edge of a large park, and there is a supermarket and ATM just metres away. Our room was super large and had a wonderful view towards the sea and the sunset. The bar on the ninth level is excellent. Some downsides: the wi-fi was fickle; the breakfast bar was on the meagre side.
