Family holiday

We stayed at Villa Miltos for 7 nights, I’m not sure I’d stay there again, but it was ok for the week. 

We arrived quite early, check in was easy and our room was ready. We were shown to our room and what I liked was that we were left to it. I’ve found in other hotels in Greece the staff tend to hang around you, which didn’t happen here. 

The room was very basic. There is a fridge which is great as it’s a self catering hotel. There’s a hairdryer in the bathroom and we had 2 rooms, 2 single beds pushed together for the adults and 2 fold out beds for the kids. Only one pillow provided each which isn’t quite enough for me, but manageable for the week. Quite small rooms, considering the fold out beds for the kids are in the kitchen area. 

Towels and bins were changed everyday but the cleaning was questionable. The room was clean on arrival but I’m sure only the bathroom was given a once over every now and again.  The kitchen area was definitely not cleaned as I had sprayed some ants on the worktop that stayed there for 3 days until I cleaned them up. 

Kitchen utensils are provided but we didn’t use them other than cups as there’s a bar right by the pool that serves all meals for a charge. We had breakfast every day and snacks for the pool which were fine. 

The shower head holder was hanging out the wall so showering was a 2 person job, you needed an extra pair of hands to hold the shower up! 

There is air conditioning, although I wasn’t sure how you get this to work; I assume you have to pay for a remote and having read other reviews, it looks as though it’s 50 euros for the week. We managed without, just about. We had the windows open in the main room, which does have a mosquito net that didn’t quite fit to the window so we stuffed the gap with our towels (there are LOTS of bugs and even with insect repellent we were still bitten - ouch!). 

The only down side to having the windows open is that you can hear everything from outside from people talking at the bar, to dogs barking and traffic from the main road which can be VERY loud into the early hours of the morning. 

Pool area is lovely, plenty of sunshine all day and the week we stayed we were usually the only ones by the pool so no fighting over sun beds! 

The pool is chlorine not salt water which is great, sun warms it up nicely and there are rules to shower prior to entering etc so as not to dirty the pool. 

From the pool, you can see the rooms on the ground floor that do appear to have been upgraded so if you get one of these they might be slightly nicer than those rooms above. 

Easy to get to, great location right in the middle of the island, bus stop a very short walk up the road that takes you to either end of the island. 

I’m sure the hotel is advertised as 3 star, but we were only charged 50 cent per night per room for tax which would suggest only a 2 star, and I think that’s a fair reflection. 

It’s a reasonable hotel; with some redevelopment or even minor repairs (i.e reattaching the shower holder and getting a blind that fits the window!) it could be better than average. 

Not too bad! 

Stayed for a week only wish it was longer  Miltos and his family very friendly and accommodating Wanted for nothing. Good central location. Bus stop just outside supermarket next door  Miltos pointed us in right direction for great Tavernas . Nice clean rooms great quiet pool 

Just what we needed

Very good apartment just arrived but watch out for having to pay for air con at 50 euros per week. Beautiful destination and staff very friendly . On the bus route to all destinations local mini market.
