Overview

The Resort on the island of Crete known for its excellence, pleasant environment, proximity to famous archaeological sites and its buzzing Capital, Heraklion. Built on a promontory in traditional Aegean architecture and overlooking the deep blue bay of Aghia Pelagia, the hotel offers direct access to three different beaches ideal for swimming and snorkeling due to their protection from the frequent northeastern winds that regularly affect the North of Crete.

Rooms

The hotel is compromised of two main buildings and several groups of Bungalows with great views of the sea. In total the hotel offers 250 guest rooms of various types. All of which are equipped with a Balcony, Patio, Telephone, LCD Television, Satellite Channels, Air Conditioning, Hairdryer, Bathroom, Bath or Shower, Complimentary Toiletries, Refrigerator, Electric Kettle, Wake up Service, Safety Deposit Box. Wi-Fi is also available in rooms at a small extra charge. A housekeeping service is provided 6 days a week (excluding Sundays).

Food & Drink

The hotel restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, in a buffet format which can all be enjoyed with the spectacular view of the sea. The Menu is greatly influenced from the traditional Greek and Cretan cuisine however certain more contemporary choices are also available. During breakfast, lunch and dinner a number of live cooking stations operate and as well as live grill station that operates every day during dinner. Drinks, snacks and light meals can also be enjoyed at the 4 bars available:

The Lobby Bar - located in the hotel main building, near the reception and offers coffee, drinks, a variety of cocktails.

The bar operates throughout the entire season from 18:30 – 24:00.

The Snack Bar – The Snack Bar is located next to the central pool under a large pergola. It operates in the daytime and offers coffee, drinks, a variety of snacks, and light meals. It is ideal for relaxing and enjoying your coffee after a dive in the pool.

The bar operates throughout the entire season from 09:00 – 17:30.

The Pool Bar – The open-air Pool Bar is the hotel’s largest bar and includes the theatre and dancing stage. It is where the animation team performs each night and where all our guests gather in the evening. This bar also offers a great panoramic view of the sea and offers a variety of refreshments and exotic cocktails.

The bar operates throughout the entire season from 17:00 – 01:00.

The ‘Tsimento’ Beach Bar – Our beach bar is unique in that it is a concrete platform situated literally next to the sea. It is very popular amongst locals and may get quite busy on weekends. It is the ideal place to swim, relax under the sun, and enjoy your coffee with the tranquil view of the sea. It is ideal for those who do not like pebbles and sand and just want to swim. The bar offers a variety of dishes, drinks and cocktails and operates during the summer months from 10:00 – 19:00. Sun beds and umbrellas are available at an extra charge.

Sports & Entertainment

There is 2 outdoor swimming pools (one with fresh water and one with sea water and both offering excellent sea views and 2 adjoining children pools).

Sport facilities at the hotel include pool games, coffee games, table tennis, 2 tennis (prior reservation), 1 multi-use court, darts, tournaments, competitions, selection of board games, volleyball, billiards (except 14:00-18:00), water ball, gymnastics, etc. The Peninsula Hotel has elevators, registration / hospitality, tour desk, money exchange and a chapel. A local bus service connects the hotel to town. A variety of beauty and wellness therapies can be found in the Spa and Wellness centre, there is also a indoor heated swimming pool. For the little ones there is a children’s mini club and playground. Wi-Fi is available in all public areas of the hotel and is free of charge. The animation program organizes a variety of different activities everyday for both children and adults.

Espresso coffee, the Pergola bar, the beach bar, all drinks after 23:00, Scuba diving courses, umbrellas & deck chairs at the public beach & on the plateau in the hotel area, laundry service, doctor or medical services, car rental, telephone, fax, email service, safety deposit boxes and mini market are available at a charge.
