We write this review in full awareness that Marilena responds with vile attacks to anyone who criticises her accommodation. However, this site is about recommendations or warnings to fellow travellers so in that spirit : we were moved at the last minute from the studio we had originally booked, to a room closer to the sea. This was disappointing at first, until we read the reviews of the studios and realised that many people are moved at the last minute and the people who do stay there are not happy. However, the new room we were allocated to was dreadful. The hallway leading to the room reeked of cat pee, the whole place was dank and the room and bed felt damp. We could not get any hot water, the rusty old fridge kept us awake very noisy, there were bright green lights shining on the wall which also disturbed our sleep, there were ants everywhere. The tiny hard bed had a thin sheet and we were directed to 2 old blankets stuffed in a cupboard, and even using both of them we were cold and very uncomfortable. There was no welcome pack and no way you could cook on the 2 old rings left on the worktop. The balcony was grim, too narrow and faced a blank wall. We didn’t attempt to use it. After 2 nights we checked into a nearby hotel snd had a lovely bed, a good nights sleep and we were warm, no ants and a lovely balcony looking out to sea. When I communicated to Marilena that we had left and the reasons why, she said we should have told her. I explained that she had said she was at the apartments every day but she had not actually been there to talk to. She said she came late and heard us laughing in our room. Considering how miserable it was, there was no laughter and bit worrying if she can hear that clearly what is happening in the rooms? We were asleep by 9.30, exhausted by sleepless night previously, and she definitely wasn’t there when we went to our room at 9 so….. bit of an untruth there. Our strong impression of Marilena is that she does not care at all about customer experience, her only interest is your money and her responses to criticism are so aggressive and attacking I would seriously suggest you look elsewhere.  Dassia has a number of places to stay, and we would avoid Marilena studio / apartments at all costs if you want a nice, comfortable stay in Dassia. We will now await the predictable hideous response but we stand with our fellow travellers.

Be warned

Sadly, I've just returned to the UK after a great week staying at the Marielena Studioes down on Dassia beach.
I got these apartments recommended to me from a couple, who's pictures of Corfu I'd seen on Instagram and I'm so glad I reached out to them and booked these apartments that they recommended.
From start of making the booking to the end of the holiday Maria Elena completely  looked after me, she's such a caring and helpful person. From arranging taxi's, putting a welcome kit in your apartment and also giving recommendations of place to visit and eat at, tips on sun lounges by the sea etc.
The apartments are clean, modern and well equipped with a lovely balcony that you can relax on. The apartments sit in a lovely garden with chairs & tables, where you can sit if you didn't want to venture to the beach. Location wise you could ask for anything better, less than 1 minutes to the beach and also very close to some good restaurant's.  If I ever go back to Dassia I would stay here again. 


Wonderful Stay from Start to Finsih

We have just stayed here for a week and enjoyed every minute. Our studio apartment was simple, clean and comfortable with a lovely modern shower room. Marilena was a superb host and explained that she'd moved us from the studios on the hill to a smaller block by the sea. We weren't disappointed by the change of location - just a few steps from the sea and in a lovely green garden. The beach at Dassia is narrow but the water is clear and, being out of season, we had it to ourselves most of the time. Marilena was friendly and helpful, giving us lots of information and advice. We loved Corfu and thought it was a beautiful island. We hope to back in the future. 

Fantastic base for seeing the sights of Corfu

We stayed in Marilena's Apartments for afew days. 
We loved the views from the balcony, the tranquil location and surroundings, the beautiful garden, the nice decorated rooms. 
Very clean rooms!! The maid came daily and during our stay towels and sheets were changed very often. Marilena was very helpful and kind. She was at the property every day and she gave us a lot of information for nice places to visit. 
We had a great time and we highly recommend it to everyone.
