Alexander The Great Hotel
Our Take
Now this place is an oldie, but a goodie. Alexander the Great Hotel is one of the oldest hotels in Paphos. But who says age matters? I mean, when can you say you've walked past an ancient tomb on your way to the pool. We can, and it was pretty great, get it? Speaking of pools, there's plenty of choice for swimming pools, including a spa-like pool with back massage jets and a lovely water feature to relax to. FYI, just make sure you don't down your cocktails *too* quickly, otherwise the trickling water sounds will have you flip-flopping to the loo every five minutes (talking from experience). You don't even need to get up at the crack of dawn to bagsy a good sunbed spot! You reserve which place you want at the start of your hols, which means extra lie-in time. And we really needed that after doing the Greased Lightnin' moves at the live show - after multiple Zivanias. (If you don't know, get to know.)

Did you know?
If you're into your history, listen up. And if you're not, well...listen up anyway. While this hotel was being built, 18 ancient tombs were discovered, full of loads of fancy items which you can now find at Paphos Museum - including glass perfume bottles, and coins of Bronze, Silver and Gold. So, you can think of this place as a museum and a hotel all in one!
Food & Drink
Roxane Restaurant - a high-class buffet restaurant that serves as the main evening dining experience at Alexander the Great Hotel
Café Royal - lavish buffets and impressive live cooking stations for breakfast, lunch and dinner
Seven Orchids Pan Asian Restaurant - showcases the flavours of Asia in a snazzy setting with a huge menu (five courses, so make sure you're hungry!) to choose from. You've got sushi, miso soup, curry, ramen, and double-cooked skin-on potatoes with banana ketchup (don't knock it till you try it!)
Garibaldi Ristorante Italian - tuck into a set four-course meal of Italian classics. Honestly, our mouths were watering just looking at this menu - it's a must-visit spot!
Limanaki Tavern - traditional Greek and Cypriot meze. Think huge meat platters, small plates of your typical flatbreads, halloumi, and tzatziki. This place is made for sharing, but we don't blame you if you want a platter all to yourself...
Alexander’s Bar - located in the heart of the hotel for a laidback aperitif or cocktail by day, and by night this place seriously comes alive with live music and dancing
Infinity Pool Bar - you don't even need to leave the swimming pool to get yourself a cocktail, just a speedy swim to the bar! If you're lying on a plush sun lounger - we know how comfy they are - then luckily there's waiter service, so you don't even have to lift a finger!
Havana Venue - the entertainment hub, from kids' discos to musical shows, live music and dancers - and of course there's a bar with every drink imaginable
Please note that all dining and drinking venues are subject to individual opening hours. Half-board and Full Board guests can choose a glass of wine or local beer with their meal, cocktails are an additional charge.
Just a heads up for one-night stays, there is no allowance and visits to the a'la carte restaurants are subject to availability. For stays of 2-3 nights, you can dine at one of the a'la cartes (based on availablity). For stays of 4-5 nights you may dine at two different a'la carte restaurants (based on availablity) and for stays of 6-7 nights, you can dine at all of the a'la carte restaurants. Dining times are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
Top tip: As soon as you know which restaurants you fancy dining at, you NEED to book. These restaurants are so good, they fill up fast! The menu also changes on a weekly basis.

Gym and Tennis Courts - with high-tech facilities there's no better place to get your morning workout in

Digital Info Kiosk - these bad boys are dotted all around the hotel with pretty much everything you need to know. You can view restaurants, bars, what entertainment is on throughout the week, what the weather is like in Paphos, and local bus routes if you fancy venturing out
