Overview

With so much happening here, we'll let it (water)slide with the fact there's no beach nearby, you've still got five swimming pools, two lazy rivers and a splash park for the little 'uns. Also a lake with a walking path, not the same thing. But you're in Orlando, with Disney World nearby. So you won't even need the beach. You've also got five restaurants and bars at your fingertips, serving top-notch American grub. You must go to Bar 1521 between 16:00 - 18:00 for its happy hour. Technically two hours. But we aren't complaining.

• Back Bay Bar and Grill - sat right on the lake for stunning views, it serves huge sharing platters and delicious cocktails

• The Barista - on the go sandwiches, breakfast items and it even has Starbucks coffee for your caffeine fix

• Grand Eats Delivery - if you're all snug in your slippers and dressing gown, you can still get some good American grub delivered to your room ($6 delivery fee)
