If you've got kids who think regular pool and beach days are an absolute snooze fest, then first of all - we're sorry, and second of all - holidays to Salou have your back. For starters, PortAventura World Theme Park is already on your doorstep here, and if you stay at PortAventura Hotel El Paso, you'll have unlimited access and discounts on express wristbands and passes. Sounds like more beach for your buck if you ask us. (You didn't, but our Marketing manager said we need to promote our campaigns more, so there you go.) Even without the theme park, these hotels are all full of stuff to keep the kids entertained. Expect mini golf tournaments, poolside snacks for when the post-swim hanger kicks in, mini clubs for shipping them off to when you can't take another rendition of Baby Shark. That last one sold it to you, didn't it? Time to grab one of these cheap holidays and dash off on your next family jaunt, then...

Whether you're looking for something that's strictly no-kids, or just somewhere beachy and chilled for the two of you, we've got a few hotels up our sleeve. Well, more than a few actually - we've just had to narrow it down to a few top picks. If we had our way, this page would be at least 10x longer, but our web developers weren't keen on that idea. The point is - you can do it all at these hotels. Slurp cocktails on the terrace. Wander along the beach. Race each other to the pool to see who can make the biggest splash. Ah, romance 🥰

You'll fly into Reus Airport, which is pretty close to the beach (so you'll feel that sea breeze from the moment you land). There are a few places to grab a bite (and a beer), but this airport is only small - so don't expect to be spending up in the shops and restaurants. Which is probably a good thing...

Trains run regularly from Salou to Barcelona (around nine times a day), and it takes 1 hour and 25 minutes to get to the other side. Alternatively, if you hop in a car or have an organised minibus transfer, it'll take you roughly the same amount of time - so it depends how you're most comfortable travelling.

It's no Magaluf, but Salou definitely has a decent night scene. Avenida Carles Buigas is where you'll find the best of the bunch, but honestly - if you wander around the centre, you're sure to find something. Cute little cocktail bars line the coast, including ones with light-up couches and drinks topped with sparklers (hello Rock & Grill Cafe), or something more Brit-friendly, like Chaplins with its nightly tribute acts - starting with Disney classics for the kids and ending with some absolute bangers, from Little Mix to Katy Perry.

Salou stays sunny and warm for most of the summer season (June - September), and on the odd occasion where there's a rainshower, it'll pass quickly. October - March is when the weather is a bit more on the cooler side, and there might be a higher chance of rain.

Your all-inclusive jollies here aren't just about getting three meals a day (though brilliant Spanish buffets are definitely part of the deal). We're talking poolside cocktails, snacks whenever you fancy them, and drinks that flow as freely as the Mediterranean breeze.

July and August are proper busy (brilliant energy but expect crowds), so if you fancy the same gorgeous weather with a bit more chill, June and September are absolute gems. The weather's still lovely, your all-inclusive spreads are just as good, but you'll have a bit more space to breathe.

Don't write off May or October though! The weather's still decent (around 20°C), and your all-inclusive package gives you loads of indoor fun too. Plus, some hotels do brilliant shoulder season deals - same luxury, same everything-included service, just without the peak season crowds. Clever, right? 😉
