Known as the White Island, Ibiza is a hedonistic paradise of white sand, turquoise waters, incredible sunsets and legendary parties. But that is only one side of this picture-perfect island. Playa d’en Bossa is the epitome of an all-round destination, with a beach that stretches to the horizon, a UNESCO World Heritage site on its doorstep and some of the best clubs on the island. Ibiza is your one-stop destination for families, couples and party-goers.
Beaches
Boasting the longest beach on the island and clocking in at an impressive two and a half kilometres, Playa d’en Bossa is a sun seekers paradise. The centre of the beach showcases Ibiza in all its glory, with plenty of loungers, great facilities and endless chic beach bars – there is even a beach club, Bora Bora, where you can dance the night away on the warm sands. However, venture to either end of the beach and you will find a different kind of atmosphere. The north end of the beach takes you up towards Ibiza Old Town. The beach is little quieter here and the sand is very fine. Team that with shallow turquoise waters and you’ll find the perfect spot for a fun-filled family day out. The southern area of the beach takes you towards the watch tower. The beach is also slightly quieter here. Fine sand and a rocky coastline make this area a great place to go snorkelling.
Food & Drink
As an ever popular holiday resort, Playa d’en Bossa is home to a large number of restaurants and bars, serving almost every cuisine imaginable. Fresh seafood restaurants line the beach and there is a significant feel of calm, lazy summer nights in the air here. Ibizan cuisine is packed full of flavours. For an authentic Balearic meal try sofrit pagès – a mouthwatering mix of chicken, Ibiza sausages, potatoes, garlic and spices. For something lighter why not head to a tapas bar – this way you can also sample several dishes in one meal! So whether you’re looking for local Ibizan cuisine, flavours from around the globe or a fast food outlet to hit the spot, Playa d’en Bossa has you covered.
Culture
Synonymous with partying and late night forays, the Ibizan culture in Playa d’en Bossa is heady mix of laid-back days and vibrant nights. By day, this relaxed resort is full of beach-loving holiday makers, families enjoying the Balearic sun and all-day pool parties. With old Spanish tradition meeting the modern uprising of tourism, this once sleepy resort is now jam-packed with things to see and do for all ages. At night you will find a wide selection of bars and restaurants to suit any mood. Spanish people tend to eat late at night and often you will find restaurants serving food until midnight, giving the perfect setting to sit and while away the evening.
Nightlife
The nightlife on the White Island is truly next to none. As the sun sets Playa d’en Bossa comes alive with chic beach bars, DJs spinning non-stop Balearic beats and clubs that close at the sun rises. With such an extensive list of varied venues, no night out in Playa d’en Bossa is ever the same. Watch the sunset with a cocktail and dance into the night on the fine sand of Playa d’en Bossa Beach at Bora Bora Beach Club. If it’s a big night out then head to Ushuaia where world-famous DJs and big-name artists perform in this exclusive open-air club or head to the underground Sankeys and dance till the sun comes up.
